Distance Learning starts on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. As we stated in the letter to all of you on Friday, teachers have been working for the last several days on getting this up and running. Teachers are still receiving training on Monday. This is brand new to all of us and there will be a lot of adjustments to be made. I thank you all in advance for your patience as we navigate through the next two weeks. Please do not hesitate to e-mail your teacher or me with any issues that may arise. We are in this together!!

Chromebooks- There have been a lot of questions about Chromebooks and how do you get one for your child. The district this past week sent out a phone message directing parents to the district website to fill out a google for/survey indicating whether you needed a Chromebook for your child. I have heard from many of you that after you got the schedule for the next two weeks you realized you would need more computer access in your homes. If this is the case, please go here to fill out the form to get a Chromebook. If this doesn’t work, please go to the district website and fill out the form there. www.bsd-ri.net I am sure they will have another pick up time for families in need of Chromebooks. Please note that the district technology department is in charge of this and individual schools are not handing these out.
Virtual Spirit Week- We are excited to embark on a week of distance learning! To celebrate, we have decided to hold spirit weeks across the Burrillville School Department. In order to participate, please check the weekly spirit week flyer (attached) and plan to dress for the day's theme or set aside time to do the activity. At some point during the day, take a photo of your child (or if they can have them) in their attire or them completing the activity. Finally, email the photo to email@example.com. Photos will be shared virtually to show our community spirit and continue to remind us that we are all in this together!
Daily Lunches-Bag lunches are being offered at Callahan daily from 11:30-12:30. Your child needs to be there to pick the lunch up. This is being done in front of the school.
Spring Breakfast- When we are able to return to school we will figure a way to raffle off our Breakfast baskets.
